February 25, 2005 - Sterile Full View Flow Indicators provide operators with 360° view of process fluid. Installed in new systems or as retrofit component, units are designed for pressures up to 150 psig and come in 11 sizes with standard hygienic clamp connections or optional orbital weld connections. Providing internal transition between electropolished stainless steel heads, O-rings, and precision bore glass window, units can be cleaned-in-place, sterilized-in-place, and autoclaved.
Operators are provided with a full 360° view of virtually any process fluid by a newly designed line of Sterile Full View Visual Flow Indicators from L.J. Star Incorporated. Readily installed in a new system and or as a retrofit component, the units come in eleven sizes with the standard hygienic clamp connections or optional orbital weld connections.
Our improved design provides a smooth internal transition between the electropolished stainless steel heads, o-rings and precision bore glass window. This minimizes the chance of product entrapment and areas for bacteria traps. The units can be cleaned-in-place (CIP), sterilized-in-place (SIP) and autoclaved.
Durability is assured and maintenance requirements minimized by the overall design concept of this sterile visual flow indicator. The use of shoulder studs between the heads make disassembly quick and easy, while assuring proper compression on the o-rings and required alignment of the heads to eliminate over-stress on the glass due to over tightening. This design incorporates acorn nut fastening to eliminate exposed threads. Optional impact resistant stainless steel or plastic shields are available to protect the glass.
Units are designed for pressures up to 150 psig, depending on size. Standard material for hygienic service is 316L stainless steel. Hastelloy®, AL6XN®, Monel® and Alloy 20 are also available for corrosive service. All O-ring seals are FDA and USP Class VI compliant. Standard O-ring material is EPDM with Silicone, Viton®, FEP Encapsulated Silicone and Perfluroelastomers available as options.
Clamp sizes range from 3/8" to 8" Tube OD with custom designs and special lengths are available as well.
