February 18, 2005 - Pressure-sensitive Slim-Mat™ Extra-Thin Sensing Mat features actuation force of less than 1 lb. Waterproof mat, with NEMA 4X rating, is constructed of 1/8 in. thick flexible PVC, has smooth slip-resistant surface, and is available in sizes up to 30 x 60 in. It can be configured in custom sizes and shapes or with multiple zones, and is suitable for applications in industrial, medical, security and entertainment settings.

Extra-Thin Sensing Mat Provides Unobtrusive Detection
The Slim-Mat™ Extra-Thin Sensing Mat from Tapeswitch Corporation provides a simple solution for applications requiring the thinnest, most unobtrusive pressure-sensitive mat available. Only 1/8” thick, this PVC mat is extremely flexible, with a smooth, but slip-resistant surface. It can be left exposed or can be concealed under carpet or matting, to suit the application.
These sensing mats are suitable for applications in industrial, medical, security and entertainment settings. Typical uses include personnel protection, discrete sensing, touch signaling, patient monitoring, passenger detection, or any low profile, high sensitivity application.
The Slim-Mat™ pressure-sensitive mat is waterproof and has a NEMA 4X environmental rating. Actuation force is less than 1 lb. It is available in sizes up to 30” x 60” and can be configured in custom sizes and shapes or with multiple zones. Four-wire fail-safe wiring is available for use where safety is a factor.
