Chemineer to Launch NEW Clean Sweep Mixer at Interphex 2005

Dayton, Ohio - Chemineer, Inc. will launch the new Chemineer® Clean Sweep mixer at Interphex 2005 to be held at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City from April 26 through April 28. The new design revolutionizes mixing technology by utilizing a swinging motion instead of the customary rotating motion. It provides a hermetically sealed environment - no rotating shaft seal (mechanical seal). The mixer features a FDA/USP Class VI elastomeric seal. The Clean Sweep mixer is ideal for low-shear, high purity mixing applications and easily accommodates mixing at low-liquid levels.

This unique type of mixer has a new impeller with specially shaped blades optimized to provide global mixing throughout the vessel. The impeller's flow pattern, modeled using a commercial 3-D computational fluid dynamic (CFD) code (Fluent 6.1), and the corresponding geometric model were presented at Mixing XIX in June 2003.

The Chemineer Clean Sweep mixer provides the following benefits:
- Eliminates particle shedding from mechanical seals or magnetic drive in-tank bearings
- Agitator is center mounted with no baffles required
- Fewer crevices that equates to fewer cleanability issues
- Ease of maintenance over traditional magnetic drive in-tank bearings and mechanically sealed rotating mixers
