Automatic Balancing Valves operate for life of HVAC system.

February 10, 2005 - Providing constant flow rate of water in HVAC systems, Mesurflo® Valves are factory configured for any flow from 0.5–7,200 gpm, with piping ranging from 0.5–20 in. in diameter. They are designed with virtually silent rubber-based diaphragm, which presses flexibly against plastic-resin opening to control flow. Installation of valve and accompanying strainer and connectors permanently eliminates need of rebalancing or maintaining multiple manual valves in system.

Hays Automatic Balancing Valves Save Money and Energy in HVAC Systems

For Immediate Release February 2005

Plant engineers and maintenance professionals can save substantial operating and maintenance costs for their hydronic HVAC systems with the installation of Mesurflo® automatic balancing valves from Hays Fluid Controls.

Mesurflo® automatic balancing valves are custom-designed to provide a constant flow rate of water in any HVAC system, more inexpensively and reliably than any comparable product. The quick and easy installation of a Mesurflo® valve and accompanying strainer and connectors permanently eliminates the need and costs of rebalancing or maintaining multiple manual valves in the system.

Because Mesurflo® valves are factory configured for any flow from 0.5 GPM to 7200 GPM, with piping ranging from 0.5” to 20” in diameter, they require no adjustments during operation and are guaranteed for the life of the HVAC system. If flow rate needs to be changed for any reason in the future, it takes only minutes to swap valves.

Hays Mesurflo® valves also save energy, typically 10 percent or more, compared with an unbalanced or manually balanced system, by reducing pump head. On new systems, the amount of piping required by a Mesurflo® installation is less than required for manual balancing valves. They also reduce the total number of valves required to balance an HVAC system.

Unlike other control valves which can be noisy and clog easily, Mesurflo® valves are designed with a virtually silent rubber-based diaphragm which presses flexibly against a plastic-resin opening. The higher the pressure, the more tightly the diaphragm presses against the opening, thus controlling the rate of flow. As the pressure reduces, the diaphragm backs away from the opening, freeing any trapped particles or impurities.
