TRITTON Introduces Industry's First Portable USB Speaker System with Integrated Subwoofer

New Sound Bite Portable 2.1 Speakers Deliver a Powerful, Enveloping Audio Experience

VISTA, Calif., Feb. 1 - TRITTON Technologies, a provider of advanced networking, storage, and innovative peripheral products today announced the industry's first external, portable USB powered 2.1 speaker system. Sound Bite is a self-contained audio device with two aluminum micro drivers and a subwoofer to create a realistic and pervasive audio experience. The system features a built-in sound chip that acts as a second sound device or allows older notebooks or systems without a sound card to enjoy full, high quality sound.

The Sound Bite is ideal for PC and Mac users who want to enhance their audio enjoyment while on the road, in the hotel, or in the office, the all-in-one Sound Bite is priced at $49.95 (MSRP) and is available immediately from major online retailers.

"Digital music and audio is everywhere today including MP3's, digital movies and even corporate presentations, but most notebook computers diminish the audio experience by sacrificing sound quality for portability," said Chris Von Huben, president of TRITTON Technologies. "Our Sound Bite system delivers audio comparable to many of today's popular shelf stereo systems in a smart, compact design that any mobile user can carry in their pocket or computer bag."

The Sound Bite music system is powered via USB and requires no batteries or bulky power adapters and features a compact, fold-up design. It features 2 x 28mm magnetically shielded satellite speakers and 1 x 52mm magnetically shielded subwoofer speaker. It handles 5W (watts) rated input power with a maximum output power of 1.2W + 1.2W. The attached USB cable neatly stores under the Sound Bite for clutter free portability. Sound Bite is plug and play and compatible with PCs running Windows 98SE/ME/2000/XP and Macs running OS 9 or later with USB audio support.
