New Adhesive/Sealant Features High Peel Strength and Shock Resistance

Master Bond Inc., Hackensack, N.J. has developed a new two component epoxy adhesive/sealant with high peel and shear strength called EP21TDCHT-1. This compound is formulated to cure at room temperature or more rapidly at elevated temperatures. It has a convenient 1 to 1 mix ratio by weight or volume. EP21TDCHT-1 offers superior durability and resistance to vibration, impact and thermal shock. It has high bond strength to both similar and dissimilar substrates. It has a wide temperature range serviceability of -100°F to +400°F.

Master Bond EP21TDCHT-1 is particularly well suited for bonding dissimilar substrates especially where the substrates have different coefficients of expansion EP21TDCHT-1 is an excellent electrical insulator. It has a volume resistivity of 1014 ohm cm. It also has outstanding resistance to exposure to water, oils and many organic solvents.

EP21TDCHT-1 has a Shore D hardness of 70 and an elongation >20%. It's T-peel strength is 30 pli and it's tensile strength is >3,000 psi. EP21TDCHT-1 is easy to apply and spreads evenly and smoothly. It has a mixed viscosity of >150,000 cps. Particularly noteworthy is that it's tensile modulus is 175,000 psi.

EP21TDCHT-1 is available for purchase in ½ pint, pint, quart, gallon and 5 gallon container kits.
