Trion Introduces the Compact and Self-contained Air Boss Upflow Intermittent Duty Dust Collection Systems

Sanford, NC – January 2005 – Trion Inc., a division of Fedders Corporation, introduces the Air Boss Upflow Intermittent Duty Dust Collection (DCU) Systems, two self-contained, compact dust collectors for coarse to fine dusts in light-duty applications where high collection efficiency is essential.

The Air Boss DCU Upflow is ideal for environments where grinding, sanding, polishing, cutting, power blending and other dust generating activities occur. The systems include two models, the DCU-1 and DCU-2, both which are factory assembled and shipped ready to operate. Each compact model has a heavy-duty exterior in a blue textured finish and features a hinged cartridge access door, reverse pulse cleaning and integral fan. An optional dust drawer is available for easy disposal of collected particles as well as a 20-gallon drum lid kit and hopper/leg assembly.

“The Air Boss DCU Upflow operates most efficiently in low air volume applications of 400 CFM to 2,000 CFM where the dust collector can be easily placed near the pollution source,” according to Dave Bubb, Trion’s Director of Representative Sales. “The small cabinet design offers great flexibility in positioning the unit close to the dust source, saving valuable floor space. The Air Boss DCU Upflow requires only periodic maintenance and filter replacement is quick and easy, making the unit less expensive to operate than other cartridge filter or mechanical shaker units.”

Additional Air Boss DCU Upflow System advantages include:

• Compressed air pulse cleaning removes more dirt per cleaning cycle than outdated mechanical shaker units

• Factory assembled for easy start-up

• Reduced plant maintenance costs

• Easy filter change out for quicker maintenance

• Backward-inclined partial width fan generates greater airflow and high static pressure at equal horsepower for more efficient operation

• Standard inlet baffle to protect the filter
