TruSeal Technologies, Inc. Offers Setting Blocks for Improved Glass Support
Setting blocks provide cushion and support for glass, reducing the risk of breakage
Beachwood, OH – January 11, 2005 – TruSeal Technologies, Inc., a world leader in warm edge spacer systems for insulating glass (IG), offers setting blocks to protect glass against vibration and shock from handling, shipping and wind-loads. Available with and without pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA), TruSeal’s setting blocks are designed to elevate and isolate the IG units from the sash – reducing the risk of breakage.
Setting blocks act as cushions to help support the glass. By elevating the IG unit, the setting blocks help keep the edges from contacting any water that may be trapped in the glazing pocket. The neoprene material makes the blocks resilient, allowing the IG unit to handle stressed conditions. Setting blocks with PSA are recommended for knock-on glazing application.
Other key features of TruSeal’s setting blocks, include:
• Good durability under installed conditions
• Excellent performance under high and low temperatures (-20˚ F – 170˚ F)
• Indefinite shelf life for non-adhesive units
• Availability in various thickness, widths and lengths
