Beta Dyne Releases FSR6 Family of Switching Regulators
January 12, 2005, Bridgewater, MA - Beta Dyne is proud to introduce the FSR6 series of 30W Max. Wide Input / Wide Output, Step-Down Switching Regulators. Similar to the recently released FSR5 series, the FSR6 Switching Regulators offer the same unique combination of features that increase their versatility and suitability in a variety of applications. The series consists of eight models and offer an output power range from 2W to 30W, a wide input voltage range from 9Vin to 28Vin and a wide output voltage range from 3.3Vout to 12Vout.
The FSR6 series feature regulated, adjustable output voltages (up to 5:1 for the 5Vout models), efficiency up to 97%, over load protection (125% full load typical), continuous short circuit protection, On/Off control, a 250kHz switching frequency, and an operating temperature range of 40° to +85°C.
The eight models are further differentiated by their output current of either 1 or 2 amps as is reflected in the following model number format: "FSR613.3P" model number consists of the "FSR6" product family, "1" amp of output current and "3.3" volts of output voltage.
Another sign of the FSR6's versatility is their ability to be used in parallel operation to provide greater levels of both output power and output current (up to 4A maximum). As long as the output voltage of the two converters is the same, increased output power can be achieved.
The case and pins are available in either vertical (add "P" to the end of the model number) or horizontal (add "D") configurations and come housed in an industry standard 12-pin SIP package measuring 1.27 x 0.59 x 0.36 inches (32.20 x 15.00 x 9.10mm).
Units are available 4-6 weeks ARO. Prices start at $11.10 for the FSR61XX and $11.70 for the FSR62XX. Discounts are available for larger quantities (All prices in USD).
