Modular Panel Meters with 3-Color Display
January 6th, 2005 - Buffalo Grove, IL - The new 48x96 mm UDM Series panel meters from Carlo Gavazzi are a family of TRMS modular instruments developed to meet the most advanced application needs. The UDM Series is comprised of the UDM35, which are 3.5 digit instruments and UDM40, which are 4 digit instruments. They provide powerful scaling and filtering capabilities, wide measurement range (up to 5A/500V AC/DC, 20KW, RTD and thermocouple input) using only four input modules, cold junction compensation, excitation output, time integration and quick assembly/maintenance because of the plug-and-play modules. The parameter programming and cloning of multiple UDMs is easily achieved using the optional UDM-Soft software. Variable control and retransmission is performed via the four alarm setpoints, the fully scalable analog output and/or the RS232/485 serial communication port.
The UDM40 has additional benefits such as the 3-color display which allows users to match other existing displays or to associate a different color to a different alarm condition (ie the traffic light principle: green means all is well, yellow means caution, red means trouble). Furthermore the UDM40 can manage non-linear, complex or disturbed signals by using its 16-point linearity feature to display them accurately.
