AMETEK Introduces the JOFRA_ ATC 140A/B and ATC 250 A/B Versatile Temperature Calibrators Operate as Dry-block or Liquid Bath

LARGO, FLORIDA -- AMETEK Test & Calibration Instruments has added the ATC140A/B and ATC250A/B liquid baths to its family of JOFRA Advanced Temperature Calibrators. These versatile units are configured similarly to the familiar ATC Series of dry-block calibrators but offer a unique twist. They can be utilized as either liquid baths or dry-block calibrators.

This allows them to meet the needs of customers who have applications such as gas or liquid filled probes, glass thermometers, and multiple probe applications. Customers may chose to order these calibrators either as liquid baths or as dry-blocks, or can purchase convenient-to-use kits that provide the ability to switch from liquid bath to dry-block or vice versa.

The ATC140 and ATC250 are fitted with a 160mm (6.3-inch) deep well with a diameter of 63.5mm (2.5 inches) that can be used both as a dry-block calibrator and a liquid calibration bath with a magnetic stirrer. The 63.5mm (2.5-inch) diameter well is twice the size of any other JOFRA dry-block. That allows it to calibrate even more temperature sensors at the same time and to calibrate large as well as odd size and shaped sensors.

The ATC 140A/B and 250A/B offer the same look, feel and features found on other models in the ATC Series. All have rugged, slim-line aluminum outer casings with die-cast tops and bottoms. As with other JOFRA calibrators, each has a complete line of supporting accessories such as probe holder, carrying case and extra oil. All JOFRA ATC Series models feature the unique dual-zone heating block that is designed for optimum performance and superior temperature homogeneity throughout the block. Each zone is independently controlled for precision temperature measurement. The lower zone ensures optimum heat dissipation through the entire calibration zone. The upper zone compensates for heat loss from the sensor under test and from the open top. The ATC Series' user interface is easy and intuitive. Function keys provide users quick access to timesaving features such as the switch test or auto-stepping function. All ATC Series models feature a large backlit, easy-to-read graphical display panel that provides icons and information on the status of the ATC and calibration in progress. ATC Series calibrators may be used to perform fully automatic calibration routines without an external computer. All include JOFRACAL calibration PC software and feature RS 232 serial communications and offer full computer upload and download capabilities. The easy-to-use JOFRACAL software allows users to customize their calibration routines. JOFRA temperature calibrators are part of a comprehensive line of pressure, temperature, and force-measurement products marketed by AMETEK Test & Calibration Instruments under the CHATILLON, JOFRA, LLOYD, and MANSFIELD & GREEN brand names.

AMETEK Test & Calibration Instruments is a unit of AMETEK, Inc., a leading global manufacturer of electronic instruments and electric motors with annualized sales of more than $1.2 billion.
