KEP Introduces New Vehicle and Skid-Mount Flow Computer for Hazardous Locations

DECEMBER 10, 2004 KEP of Eatontown, NJ has introduced its new MS-716 Flow Computer for vehicle and skid-mounting applications. The instrument features a rugged aluminum enclosure and has earned UL approval for Class 1, Division 2 hazardous locations.

The MS-716 satisfies the instrument requirements for a variety of flowmeter types in liquid applications. Multiple flow equations and instrument functions, including totalization, rate metering, and batching functions are included in the instrument.

The MS-716 incorporates an alphanumeric display to show measured and calculated parameters in an easy to understand format. Single key direct access to measurements and display scrolling is also supported.

The versatility of the MS-716 permits a wide measure of operations with a single instrument package. The various hardware inputs and outputs can be "soft" assigned to meet many common application requirements. The isolated analog output can be configured to follow volumetric flow corrected volumetric flow, mass flow, temperature, or density. The RS-232 or RS-485 serial port can be used for data logging, transaction printing, or for connection to a modem for remote meter reading.

The MS-716 includes E-Z Setup software for configuring the device, and a service or test mode is provided to facilitate system start-up.
