Steam Traps eliminate superheat problems on steam mains.
December 16, 2004 -
Horizontal SS5NH and vertical SS5VH facilitate drainage of condensate from high-pressure superheated steam mains and turbines. They provide seal-tight shutoff with constant water seal and rotational seating design that eliminates concentrated valve wear. Its 3-point seating ensures steam-tight seal, even under no-load superheat conditions. Stainless steel products have up to 1,720 psig hydraulic shock rating and operate for pressures to 659 psig.

Conquer Superheat on High Pressure Steam Mains, Turbines & Process Applications With TLV'S SS5H Steam Traps!
The drainage of condensate from high-pressure superheated steam mains and turbines is a tortuous task. TLV's patented models SS5NH (horizontal) and SS5VH (vertical) are designed specifically for those severe service applications, providing seal-tight shutoff and high reliability for extended performance.
Significant benefits of the SS5H include:
· Constant water seal and unique rotational seating design eliminates concentrated valve wear to ensure long life.
· Three-point seating ensures a steam-tight seal even under no-load superheat conditions.
· Excellent resistance to water hammer with up to 1720 psig hydraulic shock rating and 0.004 diameters sphericity of the float.
· Durable thermostatic air vent automatically vents air for exceptional start-up and performance.
· Extremely soft near-to-steam temperature discharge for safety and environmental considerations.
· Horizontal (SS5NH) or vertical (SS5VH) configurations minimize installation or retrofit cost.
The SS5NH operates for pressures up to 659 psig, and is available in ½" - 1", in Screwed, Socket Weld, and Flanged connections. This maintenance-free stainless steel trap is an excellent choice for your important process applications.
