Universal Lighting Technologies Introduces DaliProâ„¢

Programmable, Dimmable Ballasts Are DALI-Compatible for Unmatched Versatility

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (December 1, 2004) – Universal Lighting Technologies introduces the latest in digital dimming technology: the DaliProTM ballast. Digital Addressable Lighting Interface (DALI) is the new industry standard for digital communications between ballasts and control systems, and once again ULT is lighting the way. DaliPro ballasts are fully compatible with DALI protocol for unmatched versatility.

DaliPro is a user-friendly, dimmable ballast designed specifically for use with DALI compatible controls. DaliPro ballasts can be programmed to perform multiple commands on cue from the push of a button or by computer control. Commands include on, off, light level control, scene recall and more. DaliPro ballasts can be controlled individually, in groups, by room, or by area, providing maximum flexibility in creating the ideal lighting environment for any application.

For single rooms or small suites, wall station devices—, available from a number of controls manufacturers—make initial programming and daily operation of DaliPro ballasts easy and convenient. And for automated control systems, DaliPro ballasts can communicate lamp and ballast status back to a central network or computer, creating new opportunities to save energy and reduce maintenance costs.

DaliPro ballasts are available for T5, T5HO and T8 linear fluorescent lamps as well as 18W–42W compact fluorescent and 40W Twin-Tube lamps. DaliPro offers continuous dimming capabilities for compact fluorescent lamps from 100% to 3%, and they can be dimmed to 1% brightness for linear fluorescents. DaliPro features Programmed Rapid Start technology to maintain lamp life in frequent starting conditions. For easy installation, DaliPro ballasts also feature universal input voltage and simple plug in wire connectors.
