Power Reamâ„¢ From Lincoln Electric Removes and Prevents Spatter Accumulation in Robotic MIG Torches

· Maintains high quality and productivity from your robotic MIG torches and improves cycle time.

· Only reamer on the market to offer this robust feature set – vortex action anti-spatter sprayer, high-speed, constant-torque reamer with self-centering diamond-shaped grip and an integrated wire clipper

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Extend the life of robotic MIG torches and improve robotic cell cycle time with the new Power REAM Robotic Gun Maintenance Center from The Lincoln Electric Company. This full-featured automatic nozzle cleaning station is designed to remove and prevent spatter accumulation in the robotic welding gun to deliver enhanced productivity.

The Power REAM clamps the gun nozzle firmly in place while a constant-torque motor drives a high-speed reamer, cutting away spatter from the nozzle, contact tip and gas diffuser. An integrated vortex-action anti-spatter sprayer distributes an anti-spatter compound in a radial spray pattern to coat the inside of the gun nozzle. The result is superior protection against welding spatter buildup in the gun parts.

The Power REAM is designed to offer simple pushbutton programming as well as interactive process monitoring. It is also the only reamer on the market to offer an automatic retry feature. When excessive spatter builds up, preventing the reamer from fully extending into the nozzle, the reamer retracts and automatically retries.

The Lincoln Power REAM’s innovative constant-torque drive system enables sure results throughout the reaming cycle. A self-centering diamond-shaped grip design offers positive traction on all nozzle sizes.

Other features include:

· Input and output signals automatically configured for all makes and models of robot systems.

· On-board diagnostic LEDs indicate position and error codes for easy troubleshooting and maintenance.

· Dry-run and sensor-override modes allow trouble-free setup.

· A motor service life of up to 2.4 million cycles. Wire cutter jaws designed for up to 90,000 cycles.

The Lincoln Electric Company, Cleveland, Ohio, is a world leader in the design and manufacture of arc welding equipment and consumables, robotic welding systems, plasma and oxyfuel cutting equipment.
