Spring-Loaded LVDTs offer 0.000025 in. repeatability.

November 12, 2004 - Suited for harsh dimensional gaging applications, AC/DC-operated GHSAR/GHSDR 750 series is constructed entirely of stainless steel and features hermetically sealed electronics and coil windings. GHSAR offers through-bore design that allows for air purging of sensors’ bearings. Both are available in measurement ranges of .100–2.00 in., and electrical termination is made through radially-mounted, sealed connector that enables use in space-restricted applications.

Spring-Loaded AC- and DC-LVDTs Offer Consistent Measurement in Harsh Dimensional Gaging Applications

Radial-Mounted Sealed Connector Reduces Installed Length

Pennsauken, NJ, November 12, 2004… Macro Sensors, a manufacturer of LVDTs, RVDTs and related instrumentation, offers a line of rugged, spring-loaded AC/DC-operated LVDTs for dimensional or position measurement in automotive factories, forges and foundries (large shaft TIR measurements), metal fabricating shops, paper and/or plastic film plants, industrial process automation applications and all types of motion control systems.

Constructed entirely of stainless steel, the GHSAR/GHSDR 750 series operate in harsh industrial environments such as shop floors where dirt, oil, water and machine coolants may be present. Electronics and coil windings are hermetically sealed against hostile environments to IEC standard IP-68. The GHSAR offers a through-bore design that allows for air purging of the sensors’ bearings to remove any potential contaminants.

Electrical termination is made through a radially-mounted sealed connector that shortens the installed length of the LVDTs for use in locations with space restrictions. A detachable mating connector is supplied with every unit for easy replacement of damaged cables. These spring-loaded position sensors consist of a spring-laded shaft running in a precision sleeve bearing and connected to the LVDT core. Use of a precision sleeve bearing results in excellent measurement repeatability of 0.000025 inches (0.6 µm) or better, and maximum linearity error of ±0.25% of full range output. Units are available in standard measurement ranges of .100 to 2.00”

GHSAR 750 units operate from 3.0 Vrms (nominal) and can be connected to any standard LVDT signal conditioner, then passed to a gaging column display, digital recorder or computer-based data acquisition system. GHSDR 750 units feature built-in electronics operating from a ±15V DC input and provide a pre-calibrated 0 to ±10 V DC output that works in conjunction with many PLCs, digital indicators, A/D converters, computer-based data processors, and QC data collection systems.

Pricing for the GHSAR/GHSDR 750 series begins at $350.00. For price and delivery information, please contact Eileen Otto at 856-662-8000/email: sales@macrosensors.com or visit our web site at www.macrosensors.com.
