Aarohi Delivers ARC-Based™ FabricStream™ Intelligent Storage Processor to Customers

Performance-Optimized Aarohi Design Leverages Multiple ARC™ Configurable Processor Cores

SAN JOSE, Calif., November 9, 2004 – Aarohi Communications, a leading provider of intelligent SAN components that are enabling a new generation of storage networking platforms, is using 11 configurable processors from ARC International (LSE: ARK) as the basis for its FabricStream Intelligent Storage Processor. Operating at 40Gbps, FabricStream utilizes ARC-Based technology for data path and on-chip control functions and delivers leading wire-speed packet-based processing performance, far surpassing what is achievable from general purpose cores and network processors.

”ARC’s industry leading configurable technology has enabled us to create an optimized solution that has precisely the features and performance the market requires,” said Dr. Kaushik Patel, vice president of hardware engineering at Aarohi. “The result is a cost-effective, best-in-class single chip solution that replaces multiple CPUs, NPUs, storage controllers and complex FPGAs in current architectures.”

“Aarohi is yet another example of how ARC’s configurable processors are becoming the technology-of-choice for cost-sensitive, performance hungry applications,” said Derek Meyer, vice president of marketing at ARC International. “Furthermore, the ease-of-implementation our solution offers has enabled Aarohi to develop an innovative, multi-processor platform that is attracting attention from leading OEM hardware vendors and software developers through the storage industry.”

The Aarohi FabricStream Intelligent Storage Processor is targeted at embedded designs enabling new intelligent SAN services such as routing, volume management, data migration and replication to be integrated into fabric switches, routers, storage management appliances, storage arrays and blade servers. The FabricStream solution is packaged with all the necessary hardware interfaces and software APIs for easy integration with a variety of existing storage networking equipment and management applications.
