Texas Instruments Sensors and Controls Launches New Low-Cost, Low Profile Pressure Transducer

Enables Specialized Electrical Connections and Mountings

ATTLEBORO, MA November 2, 2004-- Texas Instruments Sensors and Controls (TI S&C) group today announced a new low-cost, customizable transducer ideally suited for industrial applications requiring special port and electrical configurations. This transducer features TI S&C's accurate and reliable ceramic sensing element, as well as customizable port and electrical connections. TI's new product provides a flexible, high performance pressure sensing solution for specialized applications.

"The new low profile device allows pressure sensing to be easily integrated into unique and complex designs, rather than designed around stock components," said John Pechonis, industrial sensor marketing manager for TI's Sensors & Controls group. "The process control and building automation industries for example, often require flush mounting or special electric connections and our new offering may help provide greater freedom of system design to our customers."

TI S&C, which produces more than 100 million pressure devices each year, is basing the new transducer on their core ceramic capacitive pressure sensing technology and manufacturing expertise.
