New Heavy-Duty, High Speed Shrinksleeve Labeler Designed for Maximum Efficiency and Higher Volume Applications

Norwalk, CT (September 22, 2004) - The next generation of R Series Shrinksleeve labelers designed for greater throughput is being introduced by PDC International Corporation. The PDC R-500 Shrinklabeler incorporates continuous movement of sleeving materials during the cutting and application process, eliminating indexing of the web found in other systems, and delivers the high speeds required by the food, beverage and dairy industries.

Designed for maximum efficiency and productivity, the PDC R-500 Shrinklabeler applies shrinksleeves at speeds between 500 and 600 labels per minute on a single inline head. With its continuous sleeving material movement, the PDC R-500 features high application speeds utilizing the lowest web speed possible. Since all motions are continuous, internal machine and dynamic forces are minimized, resulting in a very stable yet high-speed system.

The PDC R-500 Shrinklabeler, based upon the popular earlier generation R-300 Shrinklabelers, is available in either standard or customized configurations including optional solid stainless steel construction for washdown environments. The product handling system of the PDC R-500 can be easily configured to accommodate a manufacturer's unique product size and shape range including round, oval and square packages. PDC also offers peripheral systems such as blow off systems, inspection systems, coders and conveyors.

The PDC R-500 Shrinklabelers are made in America with "off-the-shelf" components and parts readily available throughout the U.S. The PDC R-500 Shrinklabeler is primarily mechanical and does not employ vacuum, pneumatics or retracting knives. As a result, the machinery is easy to understand, operate and maintain. While each machine is manufactured to a specific application, mechanical and electronic parts are easily available, minimizing downtime and preventing costly delays.

PDC International Corporation is a multinational manufacturer of heavy-duty packaging machinery specializing in tamper evident banding, shrinksleeve labeling, multipackers and shrink tunnels. The firm is headquartered in Norwalk, Connecticut with sales and service available worldwide with many installations in the food, beverage, pharmaceutical, household and personal products industries.
