Urethane Coated Vehicle Sensing Switch Defies Damage

The RhinoSkin™ Diamond Plate Vehicle Sensing Switch from Tapeswitch Corporation was originally created for outdoor use at construction sites and mining operations. It is designed to detect multi-ton vehicles in an environment with pervasive dust, dirt, grit, gravel, mud and water, making it suitable for any factory environment, no matter how hostile.

The RhinoSkin™ switch is constructed with 3/16' aluminum deck plate up to 10 ft. long, and is sealed with a very tough urethane layer. Stainless steel armored cable protects the external wiring, which can be buried, if required. Typical applications include vehicle detection for entry and exit control, security, traffic logging, and gate activation. The mat accommodates vehicles of 40 tons or more.

The mat surface is non-sparking and non-magnetic. It is resistant to atmospheric corrosion and many corrosive industrial agents. Installation is simple and straight-forward and, after installation, no maintenance is required. The unique design has been awarded both U.S. and international patents.
