Miniature Latching Solenoid is suited for medical pumps.
November 5, 2004 -
Miniature latching solenoids use permanent magnets to create holding position without requiring power supply. Energized holding force varies from 7.2 oz up to 8.1 lb in models T1L-0420 to T1LP-1253, respectively. Input power varies from 0.5-10 W depending on solenoid size, and solenoid windings are available with 6, 12, and 24 V excitation voltages. Available in 10 models, products vary in size from 0.413 x 0.512 x 0.788 to 2.09 x 1.06 x 1.18 in.

Gee Plus Inc. of Elgin, South Carolina, announces a new family of miniature latching solenoids that use permanent magnets to create a holding position without the need for any power supply. The energized holding force varies from 7.2 ounces force in the smallest model T1L-0420 up to 8.1 pounds force in the largest model T1LP-1253. The input power varies from 0.5 to 10 watts depending on solenoid size. The solenoid windings are available with 6v, 12v, and 24v excitation voltages. The 10 models vary in size from 0.413" by 0.512" by 0.788" for the smallest T1L-0420 model to 2.09" by 1.06" by 1.18" for the largest T1LP-1253 model.
The Gee Plus latching solenoid is particularly suited for use in medical and chemical pumps and other applications where temperature sensitive materials may be found. The solenoid's motion response time varies from 2 milliseconds to 8 milliseconds depending on the input power and solenoid plunger mass.
