ATEN Technology Introduces New 8-Port KVM Switch with Increased Security and Functionality
KVM Switch Works in Conjunction with New Matrix to Expand Capacity and Features Extendable Front Panel to Ease Cable Management
Irvine, CA (October 19, 2004) -- ATEN Technology, Inc., an innovator of high-quality KVM (keyboard/video/mouse) and remote connectivity solutions to manage servers and other network devices, today announced a new enterprise-class KVM solution. The new KH88 is an 8-port, high-density KVM switch that allows access up to eight computers and is cascadeable to three levels from any port for controlling up to 512 computers – all from a single console. The KH88 also features an extendable front panel, which allows users to mount the body of the KVM near the back of the rack, easing cable management.
To further expand capacity in the data center, the KH88 connects seamlessly with ATEN’s recently announced Matrix solution - a 32-port KVM switch with the capability to link 32 users and 4,096 computers through a combination of daisy chaining and cascading.
“With the KH88 KVM solution, we have added a host of added functionality not typically found in standard 8-port KVMs such as an extendable front panel.” said Sampson Yang, CEO, ATEN Technology, Inc. “In line with ATEN’s commitment to innovation, we are continuously looking to create solutions both affordable and bursting with key features typically found in higher priced solutions without comprising quality.” According to Yang, this new KVM switch also boasts a superior video quality of 2048 x 1536 resolution.
The 8-port KH88 solution includes an internal full range power supply with low power warning indicator (versus a cumbersome AC/DC power adapter), encasement in a 1U-high rack, and flash ROM firmware upgrades. As an added security feature, the KH88 includes an On Screen Display (OSD) module for network authentication, keeping unwanted users and hackers at bay.
