Emerson Network Power Introduces the Liebert MP Family for Managing Mission-Critical Power Distribution
New Power Distribution Units and Power Strips Complement Existing Systems to Create Complete Solution for Managing Power from the Main Input to Critical Systems
COLUMBUS, Ohio, [October 13, 2004] - Emerson Network Power today unveiled the Liebert MP (Managed Power), a family of mission-critical power distribution systems designed to provide the flexibility and availability required in today's rapidly changing data centers, computer rooms and equipment racks.
The Liebert MP family includes a redesign of the Liebert Precision Power Center and Remote Distribution Center, as well as a new family of in-rack distribution modules, power strips and advanced power strips. These products complement Liebert's existing power distribution and switching systems to create a complete solution for managing power from the main input to mission critical devices.
"Rising equipment densities are impacting power requirements and increasing the importance of flexibility in the power distribution system," said Randy MacCleary, vice president of the UPS business at Liebert. "The Liebert MP represents the only solution that can completely manage the delivery of power from the point at which it enters the building to the point at which it is consumed."
Through its partnership with BayTech, Liebert has added more than 30 new rackmount and vertical remote power management systems to help IT managers adapt to changes in rack power requirements, support dual-cord devices, and provide rack-level power monitoring with individual receptacle control.
The newly redesigned Liebert Precision Power Center and Remote Distribution Center use Liebert's versatile Foundation enclosure to reduce the system footprint and enable distribution equipment to be placed in the row alongside equipment racks. In addition to the new enclosure, the Liebert Foundation Power Center (FPC) has been enhanced with a top cable exit, subfeed breakers and inline panelboards. The Foundation Distributions Center (FDC) has been enhanced with a top cable exit, power measurement monitoring and isolated ground bus bars.
The Liebert MP family also includes the existing Liebert STS2, STS2/PDU and SmartSwitches that manage power transfers between redundant UPSs and redundant distribution systems.
