Clamp-On Ground Tester has sunlight-readable LCD.

October 22, 2004 - Models DET10C and DET20C utilize clamp-on technology to measure earth/ground resistance and current flow without disturbing existing connections. Design induces test current directly into system and lets users test resistance in multiple loop installations with no additional risk. Model DET20C has RS-232 interface cable to download test data for analysis, accommodating up to 8,180 records. Both units feature hold function and configurable audible alarms.

Megger Offers New Compact Clamp-On Ground Tester

Designed to measure earth/ground resistance and current flow in a way that will not disturb existing connections, the new compact Megger DET10C and DET20C ground testers utilize exclusive clamp-on technology to give users a quick, accurate measurement. The unique design of these new Megger models induces a test current directly into the system and effectively updates the old methods of testing that may require disconnection or additional equipment.

This easy, remarkably fast clamp-on operation also assures users both convenience and safety - a single point of measurement reads the earth/ground resistance and no disconnection means users can now test resistance in multiple loop installations with no additional risk.

Megger recognizes that users need extensive data storage and has equipped the DET20C with a RS-232 interface cable to download test data for further analysis. Because the RS-232 interface cable is compatible with Megger Download manager Software, the user will be able to download the results back in the office instead of doing on on-site analysis. The unit can accommodate up to 8180 records.

These high-quality instruments are ideal for testers who need to measure resistance and continuity of grounding loops around pads and buildings or to inspect and verify lightning protection systems. They are also exemplary in measuring leakage current flowing to the ground or circulating in ground systems. Their unique design makes them well-suited for use on cell towers, and all telecommunications sites as well as on consumer installations such as pools and spas.

To effectively do these jobs, the testers also feature a large jaw opening to easily accommodate cables, a hold function for difficult to reach installations and a large LCD display screen that can be read even in bright sunlight. Both the DET10C and DET20C are equipped with configurable audible alarms.

Megger is one of the world's leading manufacturers and suppliers of electrical test and measurement equipment and manufactured the first commercial protective relay test set in 1951. With research, engineering and manufacturing facilities in the USA and UK, combined with sales and technical support in most countries, Megger is uniquely placed to meet the needs of its customers worldwide.
