Epsilon Dual GPS Clock from Tekelec Ensures a Highly Reliable Digital Terrestrial Broadcast Networks Synchronization
Chicago, October 13, 2004
The Synchronization Division of Tekelec Systèmes (Martec) unveiled a fully redundant version of its Epsilon GPS Clock this September at IBC in Amsterdam. This equipment has been developed specifically to meet the needs of SFN (Iso frequency) terrestrial digital audio and TV broadcasters. The Epsilon Dual GPS will prove particularly relevant to radio & TV broadcast network managers, digital radio & TV equipment suppliers, and radio & TV integrators.
Epsilon DUAL GPS Clock provides all the technology required to ensure maximum and permanent reliability of synchronization, from the SFN adapters of head-end terminals to high and low power transmitters and local repeaters. The 19”/1U chassis of the Epsilon Dual GPS Clock® allows for easy installation into racks. As an other user-friendly feature, an IP interface for monitoring via the Internet is provided.
The Epsilon Dual GPS receivers track up to 12 satellites each, with external reference backed up at 10MHz or 1pps. They are based on dual OCXO oscillators and fitted with dual AC/DC power supply. Switching between clocks occurs with no phase jump, and the receivers’ accuracy to UTC is +/- 35 ns peak to peak. Other features include 6 x 10MHz and 6 x 1pps phased locked outputs, fast warm-up, local or remote (IP) monitoring, alarm dry relay, and optional NTP output.
