Smart Flow Meter is available in two capacities, Model SFM 275A for flows from 180-2,100 ft³/hr, and Model SFM 350 for flows from 350-7,000 ft³/hr. Meter can be used as feeder, meter, or batcher with accuracy better than +0.5% or +1%, depending on application. With use of built-in bypass feature, it can be tared at any time during measuring process. Product is suited for high rate feeding in resin production and plastics compounding processes.

K-Tron Introduces New Version of Smart Flow Meter 275
PITMAN, NJ (October 20, 2004) - The K-Tron Feeder Group introduces the company's Smart Flow Meter 275. The model K-SF275-A incorporates the mechanical design of the Smart Flow Meter 350, introduced in 2001. The 275A now uses the latest generation of K-Tron's Smart Force Transducer weighing technology, the SFT III. It also offers options for installation in hazardous areas meeting the ATEX standards.
The Smart Flow Meter is available in two capacities: Model SFM 275A for flows from 5-60 m3/hr (180-2,100 ft3/hr) and Model SFM 350 for flows from 10-200m3/hr (350-7,000 ft3/hr). Accuracy of better than + 0.5% or +1% can be achieved depending on application. The Smart Flow Meter can be used as a feeder, meter or batcher. It measures true mass flow using the principles of Newtonian physics: F=ma (Force equals mass x acceleration). The benefits to processors include no moving parts directly exposed to the material, no interruption of flow, little or no field calibration, low maintenance and superior accuracy.
The Smart Flow Meter is often used for high rate feeding in resin production and plastics compounding processes. With the use of the built-in bypass feature, the flow meter can be tared at any time during the measuring process. Both models are rated IP 65 / NEMA 4 with all stainless steel construction. An access door is provided for easy cleaning.
