SkyeTek Announces Entry into the UHF RFID Reader Market
Product Extends SkyeTek’s OEM Line of Tagnostic®, Inexpensive, Low Power, Tiny RFID Reader Modules
Boulder, CO (October 12, 2004) – Leading RFID technology provider SkyeTek announces it has developed an embeddable UHF reader that is Tagnostic®, inexpensive, low-power and tiny. The SkyeRead™ M3 is a universal read/write module ready for rapid integration into label printers, hand-held terminals, and other devices requiring a highly-embeddable, easy-to-use UHF RFID reader module.
With Tagnostic® multi-protocol support, the SkyeRead M3 removes existing barriers to interoperability by reading and writing all ISO and EPC UHF tags on the market, and by operating universally in North America, Europe, or Asia. The RF power is adjustable, and the M3 is frequency-agile across the UHF RFID spectrum from 860–960MHz. The same popular SkyeTek Protocol gives host application developers a powerful software programming interface and API that simplifies integration and minimizes design time.
“We’ve now done for UHF what we did for HF”, said Rob Balgley, Executive Chairman of SkyeTek, Inc. “The market needed a tiny UHF scan engine so we responded with the world’s smallest, lowest-power UHF reader – the SkyeRead M3”.
SkyeTek and is now taking orders for Developer Kits. Hardware and firmware licensing options are available directly from SkyeTek. Developer Kits will initially cost $799. First shipments are available November 15, 2004. sales@skyetek.com
