New ACCURA CMM From Zeiss Offers High Performance and Multi-Sensor Flexibility at an Attractive Price
MAPLE GROVE, Sep 8 — Carl Zeiss Industrial Measuring Technology today introduced at IMTS ‘04 (Booth # D-4501) the new ACCURA coordinate measuring machine (CMM). The bridge-type CMM offers access to various probing technologies including active scanning, single-point and optical measurement.
ACCURA can be equipped with a wide variety of touch-trigger and passive scanning probes from Carl Zeiss and other manufacturers. The probes can be automatically exchanged using the RDS probe change magazine. ACCURA demonstrates its full capabilities in combination with the VAST® probes featuring active scanning technology. High grade ceramic and carbon fiber materials provide the correct stiffness that is needed for fast and accurate scanning. The completely enclosed X-axis, the only in its class, reduces service and maintenance costs. All ACCURA models are equipped with a highly effective vibration isolation system and can be installed close to the production floor. The ergonomic design of the workstation, the integrated control panel, and the hidden cable routing provide an optimum work environment.
ACCURA models offer x, y, z measuring ranges from 700 x 900 x 500 mm to 1600 x 4200 x 1400 mm. ACCURA is available with the CAD-based CALYPSO software. CALYPSO can be combined with HOLOS, designed for the measurement of 3D surfaces and DIMENSION, a software designed for reverse engineering tasks. As with all new CMMs, ACCURA comes with one year of free TeleService — ZEISS’s on-line remote support service.
