September 27, 2004 - Featuring computer-designed wiper geometry, Series APET and XPET allow aggressive material removal rates. Series APET is intended for milling most steels and cast irons, while Series XPET is suited for nonferrous materials such as stainless steels, copper alloys, and aluminum. Both types are effective when used with HREM helical roughing end mills, which are available in 1, 1¼, and 1½ in. cutting diameters and are suited for square shoulder roughing applications.

Dapra's New Pressed Inserts and HREM Cutters Provide High Efficiency for Square Shoulder Roughing


Dapra Corporation's new APET and XPET CNC Pressed Inserts were designed to cut milling costs while maintaining high-performance cutting capabilities. They carry a .001" tolerance, ensuring good accuracy and repeatability.

Produced using the latest CNC technology, APET and XPET inserts allow aggressive material removal rates and provide excellent surface finishes, with low horsepower consumption, due to their computer-designed wiper geometry. The APET inserts, with their high-strength cutting edges, are intended for high-performance milling of most steels and cast irons. The XPET inserts are ideal for use with nonferrous materials such as stainless steels, copper alloys and aluminum, as well as gummy, free-machining steels.

The new Pressed Inserts are particularly effective when used with Dapra's recently introduced Square Shoulder HREM Cutters. These Helical Roughing End Mills are engineered for heavy-duty square shoulder roughing applications such as long-edge profiling and step milling. Available in 1", 1-1/4" and 1-1/2" cutting diameters, the HREM cutters are optimized to provide the maximum in effective cutting edges, allowing high feed rates.
