Videojet® Introduces the Broadcast Systemâ„¢ Total RFID Tagging Solution

Wood Dale, IL (USA) – September 15, 2004 – Videojet® Technologies Inc. (a Danaher company) introduces the Videojet Broadcast Systemâ„¢, providing RFID tag application solutions to quickly and easily meet retailer mandates, including Wal-Mart® supplier specifications.

Videojet, a world leader in product identification solutions, has joined with its sister company, Accu-Sort® Systems, Inc. to provide a total RFID application system for packaged goods manufacturers. The Videojet Broadcast System encodes and applies RFID tags utilizing a Videojet label applicator, an Accu-Sort RFID reader, and a patent-pending reject identification and recovery system.

"The bad tag reject system makes this a very cost-effective solution," says Ian Carver, RFID product manager for Videojet. "It catches bad tags before they make it to the product and into the supply chain."

The Videojet Broadcast System is a portable, flexible, affordable RFID tag application solution that delivers high-speed performance and low maintenance. It supports Class 0 or Class 1 tags, and is EPC Global Standard upgradable.

This RFID tag application system is available for immediate installation. With the deadline for the Wal-Mart initiative quickly approaching, Videojet has already shipped several of these units to major Wal-Mart supplier sites.

"The industry already knows and trusts Videojet as the supplier and servicer of product coding equipment," says Carver. "Combining expertise with Accu-Sort, the leader in automatic identification in major retailers around the globe, adds the experience and reliable technology of the RFID system."

Accu-Sort has considerable depth in RFID applications, with over 30 working systems installed to date. The partnership with Accu-Sort also brings over 30 years of auto ID and applications expertise in WMS and ERP systems integration. The label applicator in the Broadcast Systemâ„¢ is manufactured by Videojet, and boasts proven reliability and performance, demonstrated by over 4,000 of these labeling systems in operation today.

Videojet supports this new RFID technology through its extensive service network in North America, which features over 150 service technicians in the United States alone.
