Ronkonkoma, NY … Griffin-Rutgers Co., Inc. announces the introduction of TruFlex UV, a true UV flexo press for all types of web packaging materials. TruFlex UV is designed to provide the highest quality in-line printing of all text, barcodes and graphics, in either registered or random format. TruFlex UV operates in the true rotary flexo-printing method, offering ease-of-use along with low operating and minimal maintenance costs.
The simple design of the TruFlex UV ink transfer system provides for the highest quality printing, from large solid areas to small details, including all bar code symbologies. Special solvent–free UV inks are employed that cure in milliseconds when exposed to the UV lamp of the integrated UV curing system. The use of UV inks means no cleaning during a production run, as well as simple start-up and shut-down procedures.
TruFlex UV can be integrated with either continuous or intermittent motion packaging systems. In most cases the speed of the TruFlex UV will exceed the speed capacity of the packaging system by 50%. Additional features of this unit include easy exchange of print cylinders – no tools required – allowing for short changeover times, as well as the use of energy saving, ozone-free, UV bulbs. An overprint registration control feature enables additional information to be printed onto pre-printed webs. The precision index feature provides for size adjustment of the print to match the exact index required.
