IEMCA Announces NEW PRA-52 Stock Reel Loader and PRA-100 Bundle Version

ST. LOUIS, MO - The new PRA-52 is an expanded capacity Stock Reel Loader from IEMCA. The PRA series of loaders for multi-spindle lathes can be retrofitted to any type of lathe with 5, 6, or 8 spindles currently utilizing stock reels. Simple design coupled with superior manufacturing and rugged construction results in a highly reliable loader in a remarkably small footprint.

With the four-tier rack accepting 70.92 linear inches of stock, and the bundle version holding 2.5 tons of stock, individual bar handling can be reduced or eliminated. Remnants are ejected into a collection basket so there are no bar ends to get in the way.

Both PRA-52 configurations, the Rack and Bundle", feed bars from 5mm to 52mm in diameter. The PRA-100 bundle version feeds bars up to 3.937". In addition to the 12' standard version, optional units are offered in 14' and 16' bar lengths that can increase productivity even further.

The entire PRA product line offers a mechanically actuated feed system that is controlled by a clutch. An additional High Thrust Motor/Gear Box is automatically activated prior to the front end of the bar reaching the feed fingers, allowing the bar to overcome feed finger resistance, so it can reach facing position. Accurate, reliable bar loading positioning is insured by the use of an encoder. The PRA-52 features solid guide channel sections that run a range of bar diameters in each set. The PRA-100, however, employs a steel roller style channel that handles the largest bars effortlessly. Both are easy-to-use quick-change systems of rugged construction made to last the life of the loader.

A Siemens PLC controls the bar loading cycle of the PRA line. The controls are conveniently located in an easy-to-use handheld remote pendant designed by IEMCA. This pendant centralizes all of the control features of the bar loader and allows for a quick and easy set up. The CRT screen provides menu-driven, step-by-step operational control and displays descriptive alarm messages for quick troubleshooting.

IEMCA's patented double pusher space saving design reduces the overall length of the bar loader. This saves over 6' of valuable floor space.

The PRA line of stock reel loaders are designed to be a best bet to add to the bottom line, quickly, easily and affordably.

In 2001, IEMCA is celebrating its 40th anniversary of producing automatic barfeeders for both single and multi-spindle lathes.

IEMCA is an industry leader in the design and innovation of bar feeder technology. The company continues to offer the most comprehensive product offering in the automated feeding systems marketplace.
