OGP Announces SmartScope Flash 1500 - Unique Large Travel Automatic Measurement System
Rochester, NY, September 2004 - Optical Gaging Products, Inc. (OGP®) announces a new member of the company's popular SmartScope® Flashâ„¢ family of automatic, multi-sensor measurement systems. At the request of customers looking for Flash capabilities with a large measurement volume, the new SmartScope Flash 1500 offers "Flash system features and performance" with an extremely generous 36x60x8 inch (900x1500x200 mm) XYZ travel in a unique floor stand system.
SmartScope Flash 1500 features a moving bridge design. The instrument head moves along a steel bridge in the X axis, and the entire bridge moves on parallel tracks in the Y axis. The staged part remains stationary, while optics/bridge translations are performed rapidly with excellent positioning accuracy. Its substantial measurement range makes it well suited for measuring large parts such as plasma display panels, large metal or plastic modules, LCDs, and circuit boards; or fixtured arrays of smaller parts/assemblies.
As in other SmartScope Flash systems, SmartScope Flash 1500 includes the patented sharp-imaging AccuCentric® 12x zoom lens that is automatically calibrated at every magnification change. Programmable illumination includes the patented white LED SmartRingâ„¢ light, coaxial (TTL) surface illuminator, and LED back light. Multi-sensor capable, the system can also be configured with a touch probe, micro-probe and/or laser scanner.
OGP's exclusive metrology software packages use point-and-click tools to simplify the creation and operation of automatic measurement routines. System capabilities are further enhanced with software options that include form fitting, SPC, CAD translation, and custom report writing. SmartScope Flash 1500 allows users to take full advantage of multiple sensors for thoroughly measuring complex parts.
The SmartScope Flash 1500 will be featured in OGP booth D4521 at IMTS 2004. To see all of the metrology solutions they offer be sure to visit both OGP booths - D4521 and E2S24.
