OGP Focus Contour Project Sets New Standard for Compact 14 Inch Optical Comparators
Rochester, NY, September, 2004 – Focus™ Contour Projector®, the benchtop member of Optical Gaging Products, Inc. (OGP®) Contour Projector product line, raises the standard for low cost comparators with features unique in its 14" class.
Many benchtop optical comparator manufacturers take shortcuts to reduce costs. Not OGP. High-end features are standard in Focus. True telecentric optics provide high resolution imaging. The corrected image has a flat field, superb contrast, and projects sharp images all the way to the edge of its full 350 mm (14") viewing area, contributing to accurate measurement and inspection. Internal, turret-mounted magnification lenses are safe from dirt and rough handling. Focus' balanced, low friction center-drive focus mechanism makes it a pleasure to achieve accurate focus. An adjustable direct projection collimator concentrates light for the brightest, highest contrast images at all magnifications.
Unlike other systems, every Focus is a true measurement machine with its standard integral geometric measuring processor. Its pair of bright, easy-to-read LCD displays and shop-hardened keypad are built in, not added on, and are within easy reach of the operator. Automatic lens sensing provides for error-free measurement scaling. Focus comes standard with simple tools to measure angle, radius, diameter, width, intersection, included angle, distance, roundness, and straightness. Focus includes a hardened worktable with 8" x 5" travel supported by a massive metal casting. "Square-on" surface illumination avoids fragile fiber optic lighting that can interfere with part fixturing.
Focus options include the patented Projectron™ internal, automatic edge detection; joystick-controlled motorized worktable for fully automatic operation when used with SmartCheck® metrology software; and software packages including SmartReport® Plus for custom report generation, and GageFit™ for contour analysis.
