Laser Measurement Sensors are scalable to user requirements.

August 24, 2004 - Series BOD 24K LB analog laser distance sensors feature 2 discrete outputs that detect presence of objects, as well as indicate position and size. Microprocessor provides embedded functions including signal averaging, min/max hold, and signal hold, which are accessed on sensor by built-in push buttons or remotely via teaching input. Models are available with extended sensing ranges of 30–100 mm and 80–300 mm with resolution better than 0.1% full scale.

Balluff Introduces Analog Laser Measurement Sensors Scalable to Specific Customer Requirements

FLORENCE, KY (August 2004) – Balluff introduces a series of intelligent analog laser distance sensors with two discrete outputs that not only detect the presence of objects, but also indicate their precise position and size. Balluff’s BOD 26K LB model employs proven laser triangulation as its basic sensing technology and incorporates a microprocessor to provide additional embedded functions including signal averaging, min/max hold, signal hold, as well as full scalability over the entire sensing range. These functions are easily accessed directly on the sensor by either built-in push buttons or remotely via a teaching input.

BOD 26K models are available with extended sensing ranges of 30-100 mm and 80-300 mm. With this choice of sensing distances, and with a resolution better than 0.1% of full scale, critical production applications can be solved more easily with the BOD 26K than virtually any other laser measurement sensor.

Applications include dimension checking (width, length, and height), contour sensing, fill height sensing, machine tool status verification, surface inspection, and position measurement.

Balluff Inc., the U.S. subsidiary of Balluff GmbH & Co., Neuhausen, Germany, is a leading manufacturer of a wide range of inductive, optical, capacitive and magnetic sensors as well as linear position transducers and ID systems. Balluff products for OEM and factory floor solutions are used to control, regulate, automate, assemble, position, and monitor manufacturing, assembly, and packaging sequences for industries including metalworking, automotive, plastics, material handling, wood processing, aerospace, electrical, and electronics.
