Angled Light Curtain Guards Two Planes Simultaneously
With its Slant-Guard Safety Light Curtain, which integrates two units into one, Tapeswitch Corporation has created a product that eliminates the need for multiple light curtains in applications that require guarding in two different approach directions. Mounted horizontally, it provides protection on two sides. Used vertically it adds protection in a diagonal plane. This results in lower cost, easier installation, and higher reliability than the usual multi-unit solution.
This full-featured light curtain provides category 4 safety protection and includes an interface that is compatible with standard safety relay units and fail-safe PLC's, as well as control units offered by Tapeswitch. It is available in a wide range of sizes and resolutions for protection of fingers, hands, and torsos. Flexible beam blanking allows the light curtain to operate where there is a permanent or moving obstruction in the sensing field. The tough extruded aluminum body measures a compact 35mm (1 3/8") x 45mm (1 3/4") and has an IP65 environmental rating.
