Plastic Multi-Barbed Fittings Now in Five Material Variations to Suit a Variety of Applications
More Materials Means More Choices
Southampton, PA — Now available from NewAge Industries are Thermobarb multi-barbed fittings in an assortment of five plastics. This expanded offering lets users select the material that works best with their application, from potable water and laboratory use to chemical and fluid transfer, industrial uses, and many others. Thermobarb fittings work well with tubing and hose made from soft materials such as PVC, silicone, polyurethane, TPR, and additional materials.
Thermobarb plastic multi-barbed fittings are precision molded in nylon-6, high density polyethylene, PVDF, natural polypropylene, or new black polypropylene. While all five varieties of Thermobarbs offer high impact strength and excellent chemical resistance, each material offers its own advantages for particular applications. For example, the nylon material is formulated to resist physical stress and is NSF-61 (National Sanitation Foundation) approved for use with potable water. Polyethylene offers chemical compatibility and high impact resistance at lower temperatures. PVDF, manufactured from FDA-approved ingredients, provides a working pressure of up to 250 psi (when used with appropriate clamps). Both polypropylene varieties feature FDA materials, are autoclavable, and may be used at temperatures as high as 220F. The new black polypropylene offers a color option.
Lightweight and compact, Thermobarb fittings are easy to install. Simply push the barbed end into the tubing or hose, and secure the connection with a clamp (when necessary). The use of Thermobarb plastic multi-barbed fittings as part of a hose assembly results in less overall weight and bulk of the entire assembly when compared with metal counterparts.
The wide variety of Thermobarb styles includes adapters, connectors, elbows, tees, reducers, Y’s, and 4-way connectors, as well as specialty items such as pinch clamps and check valves. Sizes to fit hose I.D.’s ranging from 5/32” to 1” are stocked. NewAge Industries also offers clamps, a complete range of plastic tubing and hose, and brass barbed fittings for more demanding applications. NewAge’s fabrication team can produce ready-to-install, custom hose assemblies quickly when stock materials are used.
