Seco-Carboloy’s New R219.19 Copy Mill Excels In Close-Tolerance Machining Applications.

Versatile, full-radius milling cutter produces excellent surface finishes.

Warren, Michigan, August 4, 2004 – Seco-Carboloy has introduced a new line of full radius copy milling cutters designed for high-productivity semi-finishing and finishing operations in a wide range of materials. The new R219.19 Copy Mills, which are available in sizes from .315 to 1.250 in. diameter, use a single precision-ground, ball nose replaceable insert. The cutter can ramp into a component or drill to a shallow depth for milling due to the chisel center point. Very fine finishes are possible using the R219.19 copy mill, especially when programmed with a small step over. The single blade R219.19 copy mill is ideal for high speed finishing and general copying of a component feature. The milling cutter can be used to scan a component, copy a profile, machine an internal feature or an external profile.

Two available insert geometries enable semi-finishing and finishing applications.

A single, versatile PVD-coated, micro-grain carbide grade covers the full spectrum of part materials. The insert has a two-point locator that is accurately positioned and locked into the hardened steel cutter body using a ground center screw to provide high stability for accurate machining operations.
