Oscillating Mounts have compact design.

August 4, 2004 - Created for free oscillating screens and shaker conveyor suspensions with drive frequency below 12 Hz, ROSTA® AB-D oscillating mount compensates for resonance experienced during startup and shutdown. Linear system consists of 2 series of connected ROSTA double rubber suspensions and offers isolation rate of ~98% towards sub frame and building structure with low natural frequency of 3.6–3.2 Hz. Capacities range from 112–270 to 2,471–3,595 lb.

New Line of Oscillating Mounts from Lovejoy Fit Both Compact Size and Price

Adjustment Anxiety a Thing of the Past

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — June 27, 2004 — Startup and shutdown might represent the most critical time periods in the life of any shaker screen, and its motors, v-belts, and bearings. Until the screen adjusts to the correct frequency, excessive vibrations or resonance causes unnecessary wear on surrounding equipment, is detrimental to safety, and can push decibel levels above OSHA® noise regulations.

For 2004, Lovejoy Inc. introduces an extension of the ROSTA® AB oscillating screen mount family by adding a more compact oscillating mount with broader appeal. The new, Lovejoy ROSTA® AB-D oscillating mount takes the rugged characteristics of the heavy-duty AB mounts, and refines them, adding the best value per pound of capacity on the market. The new AB-D product line from Lovejoy helps meet the challenge in a lighter duty operation that calls for the same type of shock absorption as in a larger-load operation, yet requires greater economies of scale. The Lovejoy ROSTA AB-D oscillating mount comes with a warranty of one year.

Determining the right size Lovejoy ROSTA AB-D oscillating mount for any application should involve a Lovejoy field sales engineer; several variables must be factored in.

Design Advantages

Eliminate resonance. Compared to common alternatives, such as coil springs, the AB-D linear system helps compensate for the resonance shaker screens experience during startup and shutdown. Coil springs or marshmallows inherently want to move in 360 degrees, due to their design and cannot help solve this common resonance problem.

Compact design. The Lovejoy® ROSTA® AB-D oscillating mount was created specifically for free oscillating screens and shaker conveyors suspensions with drive frequency below 12 Hz. This component’s compact design fits into tight spaces for ideal integration into existing screen systems.

Smaller systems. The Lovejoy ROSTA AB-D oscillating mount consists of two series of connected ROSTA double rubber suspensions and offers a high isolation rate of approximately 98% towards sub frame and building structure with its low natural frequency of 3.6 to 3.2 Hz.

Fixed performance. The Lovejoy ROSTA AB-D design also eliminates the need for side-snubbers – the sixteen rubber elements in the ROSTA model absorb inertia in the screen box within seconds. The high degree of lateral stiffness gives fully assured screen box fixation; transportation clamps for mobile screening plants are not needed. Furthermore, this also eliminates the need to install expensive vibrating motors or exciters with electro-magnetic brake systems.

Economical. Finally, the Lovejoy ROSTA AB-D oscillating mount gives the best cost/load relation of any system on the market. By eliminating the need for auxiliary parts, such as side-snubbers or more expensive brake systems, the overall operational design is simplified and parts inventory reduced. Additionally, the rubber elements that absorb shock in the ROSTA AB-D are designed to last, and they require no lubrication or other maintenance.

Seven sizes in this new compact line are currently available. The Lovejoy ROSTA AB-D oscillating mounts have been standardized for the following load capacities per element:

AB-D 18 = 500 to 1’200 N, 112 lbs – 270 lbs

AB-D 27 = 1’000 to 2’500 N, 225 lbs to 562 lbs

AB-D 38 = 2’000 to 4’000 N, 450 lbs to 899 lbs

AB-D 45 = 3’500 to 6’000 N. 787 lbs to 1350 lbs

AB-D 50 - 120 = 4000 TO 9000N 899 lbs to 2022lbs

AB-D 50 -160 = 8000 TO 12000N 1798 lbs to 2697lbs

AB-D 50-200 = 11,000 TO 16,000N 2471 lbs to 3595lbs

The new, compact Lovejoy® ROSTA® AB-D oscillating mounts, designed for lighter load, compact operations represents just one of the many lines of solution-engineered products from Lovejoy. Founded in 1900, Lovejoy enjoys an international reputation as the leading company specializing in flexible coupling design and development.
