Densglass® Ultra Shaftliner™ From G-P Gypsum Goes Gold
New Gold Mat is Recognized by the Commercial Construction Industry as the Gold Standard
ATLANTA –The demonstrated performance of G-P Gypsum’s paperless DensGlass® Ultra Shaftliner™ has made it the premium 1” gypsum shaftliner in the marketplace for area separation walls and shaft wall assemblies. And now DensGlass Ultra Shaftliner features a gold-colored mat surface like that of DensGlass® Gold, the company’s tremendously successful commercial exterior sheathing product.
“For more than 18 years, the commercial construction industry has recognized the gold mat on our DensGlass Gold exterior sheathing as the symbol of quality in the marketplace,” explained Dave Fleiner, president of G-P Gypsum. “Now DensGlass Ultra Shaftliner can also be easily identified as a proven performance G-P Gypsum product by the same paperless gold mat. Builders can be confident when they see gold that they are using genuine G-P Gypsum commercial building materials.”
DensGlass Ultra Shaftliner consists of a moisture-resistant, noncombustible 1" gypsum core with coated glass mat face and back. It resists the growth of mold* that can occur with other shaftwall panels as a result of exposure to wet weather during construction. DensGlass Ultra Shaftliner holds up well on job sites both before and after a building is closed in. It is ideal for use in moisture prone vertical and horizontal shaft wall assemblies, stairwell and area separation wall applications used in multi-family construction projects.
DensGlass Ultra Shaftliner is warranted for six months from purchase date against delamination and deterioration from weather exposure. Superior moisture resistance can significantly reduce or eliminate callbacks due to moisture-related problems. The product is a Type X panel that meets fire-resistance requirements in shaftwall, stairwell and area separation wall assemblies. DensGlass Ultra has been rigorously tested to achieve a 2-hour fire endurance rating in full-scale ASTM E 119 and CAN/ULC-S101-M fire tests.
