Cornell Iron Works Expands Line of Labeled Fire Products

New and improved offerings provide more emergency response solutions

Mountaintop, Pennsylvania

July 2004

Cornell has expanded their line of emergency response products to include the new Firemiser™ insulated fire door and larger SmokeShield® leakage rated assemblies. These new products give architects and building owners more solutions for applications where labeled closure products are needed to protect property and life.

One Firemiser insulated fire door from Cornell can now achieve rolling steel security, up to 4 hours of UL rated fire protection, plus sound attenuation, climate and smoke control. The Firemiser carries a tested, Sound Transmission Class rating of STC 27 and the energy saving insulated curtain provides a 4.2 R-value. Reduce costs by specifying a single Firemiser door to meet multiple design needs, and continue cashing in with the energy savings generated by Firemiser’s insulation and sealing.

Cornell’s SmokeShield assemblies feature a UL tested smoke sealing system proven to provide invaluable protection against the loss of property and life. Now, SmokeShield Fire Doors are available in sizes up to 34’ wide by 25’ high, complimenting the use of SmokeShield Counter Fire Doors on smaller openings. SmokeShield units are UL labeled for fire protection and UL leakage rated assembly “S” labeled for smoke and draft control. Obtaining a proven smoke rated assembly has never been easier!

“Cornell is proud to protect the safety of our customer’s clients by offering safe and secure fire products,” said Steven Gallacher, Vice President of Marketing at Cornell. “By expanding our line of emergency response products, Cornell makes it simple for design professionals to meet their application requirements.”

With these new and improved fire products, Cornell Iron Works again demonstrates its 175-year commitment to meeting the real needs of the market. Whether seeking quality, performance, reliability or overall satisfaction, customers have always known that they’re Safe and Secure with Cornell.
