New Ultra-High Performance Forging Lubricant

June 2004

Dylon Industries Inc. has developed Dyforge 312 a heavy-duty ultra high temperature forging lubricant. Dyforge 312 is a water-based, forging lubricant that contains micro-fine graphite and a special Proprietary binder additive package.

Dyforge 312 is designed to forge difficult, warm or hot ferrous, super alloy, and powder metal parts. Dyforge 312 has demonstrated exceptional abilities on aerospace forgings, precision forgings, and net forgings. The unique difference of Dyforge 312 is its ability to wet dies that are hotter than usual. Dyforge 312 can be used on dies with temperatures from 150°F - 1300°F (66°C - 704°C). This heavy-duty lubricant provides outstanding metal movement and superior anti-solder properties for the most demanding of forging operations. It provides superior release properties and works where other lubricants can't.

Dyforge 312 provides the enhanced lubrication and die cooling demanded by today's progressive forging operations. These properties provide an extension in die life that results in less downtime, reduced scrap rates, and can improve Press cycle times or increase pieces manufactured Per hour.

Dyforge 312 has proven stability in both its concentrated version, and as a dilution.

diluted Dyforge 312 is sprayed by conventional methods. Spraying is highly recommended because it produces the most uniform coatings and better control of metal movement.
