Four-Cylinder Engine suits off-highway equipment.

Iveco Motors of North America Unveils Their Cusron Gen-Drives

CAROL STREAM, IL (May 2004)—Iveco Motors of North America, Inc., a subsidiary of Iveco Motors, a leading world-class diesel engine manufacturer, is proud to reveal their Cursor Gen-Drives based on their acclaimed Cursor engines. The Cursor Gen-Drives are a complete engine package, which includes a base engine, cooling system, and air filter, to provide power ratings from 353-558hp.

“Our Cursor Gen-Drives provide OEM’s with a wide range of power for their generator sets,” says Vincenzo Perrone, General Manager, Iveco Motors of North America. “The maximum output of our drives installed within their generator creates a powerful generator set.”

Cursor Gen-Drives are fitted with all of the components that are needed to connect to an existing generator, allowing OEM’s to produce their own optimal generator set package. The 4-valves per cylinder diesel engine has an electronic management of high-pressure fuel injection system, which decreases fuel consumption values to as low as 0.325 lb/hphr. With an equipped electronic control unit and hardware specified for power generation, the Cursor Gen-Drives produce enhanced power performance levels. In addition, compared to other gen-drives, the engine package has a new innovative design that easily connects to any power generator.

The Cursor Gen-Drives have a rear gear drive design that enables the noise levels to stay below 95dBA and improves the cooling performance due to the better airflow on the front section of the engine. Cursor Gen-Drives meet EPA Tier 2 and EC 97/68 Stage 2 and is EPA Tier 3 capable. Available in 50Hz and 60Hz versions, component options include a 12V or 24V electrical system that can also be equipped with a puller or pusher fan, air heater, fuel heater and engine mounts.

Iveco engines are the result of over 100 years of engine-making experience and offer the widest availability of customized engine build options. Headquartered in Torino, Italy, Iveco is recognized as a worldwide leader in power train systems. With production of almost 400,000 engines in 2003, the company has nine plants and three research facilities dedicated to engines, located throughout Italy, France, South America and Asia.

In order to respond to the demands of the North American marketplace, Iveco recently began operations in Carol Stream, Illinois, to deliver first class service throughout Canada and the United States. Iveco Motors of North America, Inc. is a U.S. corporation fully owned by Iveco S.p.A, which is part of the Fiat group. Fiat S.p.A. shares trade on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol FIA.

The newly opened Iveco Motors of North America offers complete product support and customer service. For more information please call (630) 260-4226 or visit www.ivecomotors.com
