MRC® Hi-Temp and Submersible Bearing Units Offer Superior Performance in Extreme Conditions

MRC® Hi-Temp and Submersible Bearing Units offer superior performance in applications where standard anti-friction bearings tend to fail prematurely due to extreme heat or moisture conditions. Their designs incorporate specialized plane bearing inserts, which contribute to improved service life despite harsh and constant exposure.

The inserts integrated into these bearing units mount horizontally or vertically into any of MRC's Marathon housing styles, offering set-screw locking capabilities to prevent their rotation in the housing. They can be supplied to handle various loading and speed conditions; operate maintenance-free without lubrication; and meet USDA approval either for direct or incidental food contact in meat, poultry, and dairy applications. Shaft diameters range from 3/4 in. to 1-15/16 in.

MRC High Temperature Plane Bearings (HT) can withstand consistent temperatures up to 500ºF and feature 316 stainless steel inner rings and 304 stainless outer rings to resist corrosion and wear. A high-performance polymer sleeve material allows the bearing to operate at higher speeds compared with typical plane bearings.

MRC Submersible Plane Bearings (SB) are suitable for applications which are constantly exposed to or submerged in moisture. They feature 316 stainless steel inner sleeves to resist corrosion and wear and high-performance polymer outer rings to enable operation at moderate speeds. The polymer material is able to withstand continuous temperatures up to 150ºF and can tolerate higher temperatures during washdowns.

Made-To-Order (MTO) warranted products can be developed through the dedicated MTO program available from MRC Bearing Services. CAD drawings of standard products are available for downloading free from the web site (www.mrcbearingservices.com).
