Organic Odor Neutralizer eliminates commercial/industrial odors.

New Odor Control Removes H2S from Exhaust Air

A new odor control system, designed to safely remove hydrogen sulfide (H2S) present in exhaust air, has been introduced by Jacobs Air Water Systems of Tampa, Florida

The Bio-Sponge™ odor-control system for lift stations and headworks removes up to 99+% of sulfide-based odors with virtually no maintenance, treating H2S-laden air through contact with chemically treated organic media. The system can also be designed to effectively remove mercaptan odors. The Bio-Sponge™ system requires no dangerous chemicals, making it ideal for sensitive neighborhood locations. The system offers extended media life, which is dependent on equipment design, vessel size, and cumulative sulfide loadings. The spent media is typically removed by vac-truck and disposed of in ordinary landfills.

The Bio-Sponge™ is available in three corrosion-resistant materials: FRP, PVC or stainless steel. Each unit is equipped with an industrial-grade, corrosion-resistant fan, a media contact vessel, and a control panel. Unit size depends on application airflow requirements and H2S concentrations: typical units provide a compact size/footprint and fit easily within service areas, especially important for remote lift stations.

Optional equipment includes a secondary carbon stage that aids in the treatment of odorous compounds not handled by the Bio-Sponge™ media. Also available are VFD fan control option and sound enclosure for areas with low noise tolerance.
