Fiber Optic Components

Clairex announces a new family of fiber optic components. The CFE370, CFD470 and CFR520 feature self-aligning plastic lens caps which provide lower cost and better optical transmission than metal lens cans. The CFR530 is a flat window, metal lens can device that provides hermetic seal and higher operating temperature.

The CFE370 contains an 850nm AlGaAs DDH high speed fiber optic emitter. A microlens is centered on the chip for efficient coupling. At IF =100mA, typical power output is 30 µW, typical rise and fall time is 6 ns and maximum VF is 2.0 V.

The CFD470 contains an 850nm fiber optic PIN photodiode with a 950mil˛ active area. Typical responsivity at VR = 5V is 0.55 A/W, total capacitance at VR=20V is 3pF and rise time at VR=15V is 6ns. Field of view is 80 degrees.

The CFR520 and CFR530 contain 5Mb direct coupled fiber optic receivers. The chip is an open-collector, Schottky output, monolithic photo-IC. A microlens is centered on the active area for efficient coupling. These devices feature low pulse width distortion. The CFR530 can be operated at up to 125°C.

All devices are optimized for fiber optic applications.

The CFE370 is priced at $4.61 ea/1000, the CFD470 is $3.59 ea/1000, the CFPR520 is $4.24 ea/1000 and the CFR530 is $6.30 ea/1000 Delivery is 4-6 weeks ARO. Samples are available from stock.
