June 14, 2004 - Available in various shapes and sizes, Neodymium rare-earth magnets are nickel-plated to protect brittle magnet material and avoid corrosion. Typical temperature range is -100 to +180°F, and products are also offered as non-coated with varying high-temperatures and strengths. They are suited for use in miniature applications such as linear actuators, sensing applications, gyroscopes, flow meters, recording devices, pacemakers, and alternators.
