Big Wheels Keep Getting Bigger

Wilmington’s Series III 60 cavity blow molding systems with 4500 lbs. per hour of barrier extrusion capacity makes quick work of producing large containers.

Wilmington, NORTH CAROLINA --- Wilmington Machinery, designers and builders of cost effective, highly specialized, quality processing machinery, offers the Series III, a new class of large platen, high cavitation rotary blow molding machinery that combines 6 layer coextrusion, all electro-mechanical clamp systems and improved bottle handling to provide ultra high throughput blow molding capabilities.

Series III is a wheel system that is ideal for demanding high performance applications requiring close tolerance, high quality containers of any size or shape. The highly integrated design matches the needs of molders demanding uptime, flexibility, ease of operation and high throughputs.

The Series III super class of wheels combines single or dual parisons with Wilmington’s own specially designed high output dieheads to significantly improve material distribution leading to cost savings for the molder. Optimal layer thickness and configurations of any type of materials and layer combinations make any demanding, high specification containers easy.

Mold changes are fast and simple providing a dramatic improvement over the wheels of the past. Positioning of the molds to keep flash and scrap to a minimum is made effortless with Wilmington’s exclusive "Radial Positioning" feature included with the Series III class of wheels. Molders now have the ability to apply maximum clamping force for those difficult applications, such a polypropylene, with the flexibility to quickly change mold sets and mold lengths.

Available in many different configurations, Series III is offered in sizes for single serve juice and dairy containers to the largest models for 5/6 liters containers. Wheel output and cavitation is sized for a few thousand to well over 20,000 bottles per hour with any material or layer configuration desired. In-mold labeling, dehumidification and customized takeout systems complete an exceptional combination of benefits.

For a quarter of a century, Wilmington Machinery has been designing and building high quality specialty and standardized Industrial Blow Molding Machines, Rotary Blow Molding Machines, and Structural Foam Machines.
