Brady Universal Code Reader Is Fast and Compact

MILWAUKEE --(May 12, 2004) - Imagine a truly universal bar code reader with a full complement of capabilities. Brady Corporation makes that dream a reality with the introduction of the Code Reader 2.0 (CR2).

The durable CR2 is smaller and more lightweight than other systems, while offering a superior working range. The CR2 reads both linear (Code 39) and high-density 2D (Datamatrix) bar codes. The CR2 includes a dual path optical system, a 1.3 million-pixel CMOS sensor and a 400 MHz processor in a lightweight, compact and durable housing. The CR2 is available as a cabled (USB or RS-232), batch (store and forward) and cordless device. The cordless version includes a Bluetooth radio with 300 foot operating range. It performs more than 4000 reads and transmits off a single battery charge.

Versatility is the hallmark of the CR2. Its portability and high- speed data transfer rate make it ideal for a wide range of applications, including warehouse, production, parcel tracking and point-of-sale. The handheld CR2 features a clip-on pistol grip handle for ease of operation, and a Lithium-Ion battery for long life.
