UL Listed ETP Raintight Couplings & Connectors Have Exclusive InspectoRidgeâ„¢ External Inspection Aid For Faster Identification

ROSEMONT, IL, April 20, 2004 ETP, a brand of the EGS Electrical Group, is offering a line of UL Listed Raintight EMT steel compression-style couplings and connectors featuring the exclusive InspectoRidge External Inspection Aid for visual identification by electrical inspectors.

Formed on the outside of the coupling or connector, the InspectoRidge allows an electrical inspector to immediately determine if an outdoor, wet or damp installation that requires raintight couplings and connectors is up to code simply by observing the ridge. In addition, the InspectoRidge allows an electrician to recognize a raintight fitting from a standard one by its appearance or by touch.

ETP couplings and connectors are the only such products on the market to feature this unique design, notes Chris Walsh, Director of Marketing, EGS Electrical Group: "We expect the InspectoRidge to fast become the industry standard. Inspectors will know that if there is a ridge, the fitting is raintight without requiring them to disassemble the fitting or climb high up on a ladder."

Offered in 1/2-inch to 1-inch trade sizes, the couplings and connectors have an internal sealing ring and gasket to prevent water from seeping into conduit, a box or an enclosure, along with a KO sealing ring. The compression ring grips the EMT and maintains conductivity required for grounding. Customers can choose from insulated or non-insulated throat styles. The rugged steel construction has a zinc electroplate. The fittings install with standard electrician tools and methods.
